About Tammy Shaw-Sykes, MMT, Pain Relief and Posture Specialist

My pain journey began over 20 years ago. Four years later, a massage therapist uncovered the root of my pain—something doctors had missed while prescribing meds that only masked it. After countless tests and consultations with other health professionals offered no hope or relief, I decided to take matters into my own hands. This led me to pursue a career in massage therapy in 2009, which quickly expanded into corrective exercise, yoga, and personal training.  

By 2012, I had earned two degrees in Clinical Massage Therapy and Sports & Exercise Science, as well as a certification as a Yoga Instructor. Shortly after, I founded Shift Fitness & Massage—a safe, welcoming space for ā€˜non-gym’ people to explore movement through yoga therapy, dance, and more. I became one of the first in Minnesota to achieve Master of Myoskeletal Alignment Therapy (MMT), specializing in complex body issues. I further advanced my skills at the American Posture Institute, earning the title of Master Posture Practitioner. I continue to study for the benefits of my clients and have 30+ additional certifications including Health Coaching and Menopause Specialist

Through these experiences—and learning from clients with complex conditions like scoliosis, nerve impingements, and severe spinal issues—I developed the Shift 3D Methodā„¢. This unique approach combines breathwork and massage to realign the spine, engage the brain, and calm the nervous system, breaking the pain cycle faster and delivering lasting results. All this with empower the clients to work with us so we save our bodies without the traditional massage therapist injuries. 

Now, I’m ready to share these techniques and help others transform their lives and the lives of their clients.
